How to clean essential oil bottles?

Essential oil bottle cleaning precautions.

1. Basic cleaning process ‌

‌Inverted oil control‌

After the essential oil is used up, place the bottle upside down on absorbent paper or cotton cloth for 1-2 days to allow the residual essential oil to flow out naturally. ‌

‌Physical wiping‌

Use tweezers to pick up the absorbent paper or cotton cloth and reach into the bottle to wipe the inner wall to remove the surface oil stains. ‌

‌Detergent cleaning‌

Add warm water and neutral detergent (ratio of 1:5) to the bottle, cover the bottle cap and shake for 3-5 minutes, and use liquid friction to decompose the oil stains. ‌

For stubborn oil stains, add rice, broken eggshells or baking soda to enhance the friction effect. ‌

‌Deep rinse‌

Use a test tube brush or a long-handled brush to thoroughly scrub the bottom of the bottle, bottleneck and other dead corners, and then rinse with clean water until there is no foam. ‌

2. Special stain treatment ‌

‌Oxidation residues‌: Add oxygen net or baking soda to soak for 30 minutes, and brush after softening. ‌

‌Sticky grease‌: Soak in a mixture of 50-60 degree hot water and detergent for 1 hour to accelerate the dissolution of grease‌.

3. Disinfection and drying‌

‌Alcohol disinfection‌

Pour 75% alcohol into the bottle, make sure the liquid completely covers the inner wall and let it stand for 30 minutes to kill bacteria‌.

‌Drying method‌

Put the bottle upside down in a ventilated place to dry naturally, or use a hair dryer in cold air mode to accelerate drying (avoid high temperature)‌.

4. Precautions‌

‌Material adaptation‌

Glass bottles can be brushed with hard bristles, and plastic bottles are recommended to use soft cloth to avoid scratches‌.

‌Avoid mixed use‌

Specially for essential oil bottles, do not mix with other chemical reagent bottles to prevent odor residue‌.

‌Regular maintenance‌

It is recommended to clean once a month, and empty bottles that have not been used for a long time should be sealed to prevent dust‌.
